For your main luggage, a touring backpack around 40 liters is ideal. Additionally, a smaller daypack is recommended. A sleeping bag rated for at least -5 degrees Celsius is essential, while a bivouac sack is optional for summer treks. We provide a comfortable 5cm foam mat. Sturdy hiking boots compatible with crampons are crucial. A thermos flask is highly recommended. Crampons can be rented for €20, but advance notice is required. Pack sandals, trainers, or sports shoes for relaxation. Gaiters and hiking sticks are important for optimal trekking. Waterproof clothing, including a jacket and overtrousers, is essential. A bathing suit can be handy for leisure time.
Please remember that all our tours go up into very high mountains and pack your equipment and clothes accordingly. The temperatures above 5000 m can drop down quickly to -10 degrees. The second camp on Mt. Ararat is already in an ice zone.
